Policeman Port Williams was fatally shot during a riot at the Leland Hotel headquarters of the United Mine Workers in Springfield. Three Mexican youths held on duck hunting charges in Amarillo
Three Am arillo youths, Filio Montantes 18 Gabino Montantes 19 and Mike Gien 22 were held in Potter County jail awaiting arraignment in justice court on state game law violations. Deputies Buck Harris and Howard Eliott reported the trio were seen shooting ducks at East Tenth Avenue lake. Officers found two shotguns and a rifle but no ducks. Neighbors said the shooting began about 4 PM Sunday as thousands of ducks gathered on the lake and nearby waters. Authorities noted additional city rules and state laws regarding off season hunting.

Memphis Firemen Earn One Cent Insurance Rate Cut
