Wilbur C. Hawk announced late Thursday that the Ernie Young Revue wedding feature will be staged in the Municipal Auditorium if poor or very cool weather prevents the regular ceremony in front of the Tri-State Fair grandstand. A north wind and cooler forecast for Friday prompted the decision, with a firm site announcement to follow in The Globe Friday afternoon.
Governor Dillon will lead the grand march at the Tri-State Rodeo opening on Friday. He and his New Mexico delegation will arrive by auto caravan and be greeted by Amarillo officials. A parade through town will follow with Toney Chisum as marshal. The Portales band and delegations from six New Mexico cities are part of the ceremony. Amarillo schools will dismiss early to view exhibits.
Amarillo area will be partly cloudy and cooler on Friday with a frost risk in the north portion. West Texas expects partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures Friday. New Mexico forecast shows fair and cooler conditions with frost north and freezing temperatures in extreme northwest areas.

In Pine Bluff Arkansas three youths died after a radio aerial fell onto a 2300 volt line. Ulysses Long 26 disconnected the aerial and touched the wire. Louis Halcombe 22 and Walter Halcombe 16 both struggled to help and were electrocuted. Mrs Long witnessed the scene. Conditions were slick from rain and line work.
A Levy Tansky, 65, longtime San Antonio jeweler, died suddenly at his home. The Associated Press reports his death occurred today in San Antonio on September 25.
An endurance plane piloted by Ben Nett Griffins and Roy Hunt of Oklahoma City was forced to land at Norman about 20 miles south due to a storm around 6 15 tonight after roughly 293 hours aloft. A Western Air Express liner also landed in a corn field near Norman Municipal Airport. Both aircraft landed safely with no damage to ships or passengers.
J. H. Powell age 84 longtime Indian fighter and buffalo hunter of the western plains died today in San Marcos after a long illness. He shot his first buffalo on West Texas plains at age eight.
Bobby Jones snapped out of a morning slump to crush Fay Coleman 6 and 5 and reach the National Amateur semi finals at Merion. He will meet Jess W Sweetser, who defeated Maurice J McCarthy 6 and 4, in a duel of old rivals for a spot in the final.
Senator Tom Connally reports optimism that aid for Texas farmers will come as the Cotton Stabilization Corporation withholds about 1,300,000 bales from the market until June 1 1931. He notes emergency rail freight cuts for feed and cattle in 386 Texas counties and plans for more relief in 19 drought counties. Amon G. Carter, publisher and Texas committee chair, voices support.

The seized documents include police communications on arrest plans and a list of detectives active against gangsters. Chief Alcock pledged an immediate investigation into the leak.
Surprised by women hikers while swimming in the Ramapo river Jacob Banta 21 fled into the woods without clothing and died of heart disease. The women later found his body and notified police.
Charles E. Thomas and Tom Skinner were sentenced to 10 years by Judge Thomas Seehorn after pleading guilty to robbing spooners on a state highway. The pair said they robbed the couples to get some nice things for their wives.
In Thomasville Georgia a mob estimated at about 1000 overpowered officers at the county jail and lynched Willie Kirkland a black man awaiting transfer. The 9-year-old girl had identified him as the attacker in the Wednesday incident and the mob later dumped his body on the street. The man had been imprisoned for cow theft and was described as a trusty. Authorities said order was restored after the lynching.

State highway engineers began the location survey for a proposed road between the junction of highways 2 and 18 and Walnut Canyon to Carlsbad Caverns. A contract was let for 1.9 miles of concrete road from Carlsbad south to the junction, with work expected to start in two weeks.
