Suspect Clears Death Torch Case After Austin Return
Neal Arthur, state detective, said William Quillin told how G L Houston died in a drunken quarrel and that Houston’s body and car burned when the vehicle overturned on a curve while taking the body toward Hobbs New Mexico. Quillin, held on a murder indictment in Carson County, implicated no others and said fingerprints on a jar at Turpin farm matched his, linking him to the case.

Col Ike Pryor a famed Texas cattle king aged 85 died in San Antonio after a life starting as an orphan in Florida and rising to wealth through cattle. Virginian Convicted In Fatal Shooting
A Lee County jury found Green Allen Brooks, 82, guilty of manslaughter in the 1935 slaying of Deputy Sheriff Arch Redmond and Deputy Sheriff Bob Bailey in Virginia. Brooks testified the shootings were in self defense and said he fled to Kentucky then Texas after the July 1935 killings. He was previously acquitted in Bailey's death.

Warden Johnston Attacked by Convict at Alcatraz Mess Hall

C J Millar a 65 year old reputed former New York oil man was found seated in a hotel room with a bullet wound in the head and a small pistol on the floor.
