Death by own action ends career of marine in China
Sergeant Thomas Wilson of Birmingham Alabama killed himself with a shotgun today in the American legation guard compound at Peiping China. The 35 year old Marine arrived in China a few months ago and previously served in Nicaragua. His wife Gladys W. Wilson of Washington DC survives.

Santa Fe starts Eddy County branch line work
The Santa Fe Railroad began a 20 mile branch in Eddy County south of Clovis to serve the Potash Company of America. The contract calls for shipping 450 600 tons nine hundred thousand carloads of potash over five years or paying $1 per ton short of that target.
