President Nixon endorsed a government assisted push to move the supersonic transport from drawing board to prototype. He asked Congress for $95 million in new funds this year and $1.95 million federal injection to spur production. Boeing GE and subcontractors expect thousands of jobs and near total federal funding for two prototypes.

Don Ashier will move his family and serve as plant manager with Lee Wooldridge as plant superintendent and Delbert Lott as head machinist.
The charge of possession of marijuana against Teresa McGovern is being dropped by Pennington County Attorney Jack Klauck. The case stemmed from a 1968 motel room raid in Rapid City that led to charges against two other individuals, later dropped due to an illegal search warrant. no reason was given for dropping Teresa McGovern's charge.
