Fire destroys Beauval mission killing nun and 19 children
A blaze at the Beauval Roman Catholic mission near Lac La Plonge, 120 miles north of Prince Albert, killed a nun and 19 Indigenous children. The mission, already damaged by fire twice before, housed about 88 students under Rev Father La Jaunesse. Sister Lea, a northern Saskatchewan native, was among those killed. Dr. Amyot of Regina traveled to the scene by airplane to assist.

Indictments in Cleveland Probe Tie Alcohol Ring to Prohibition Violations
Twenty nine defendants in several states were named in twelve secret indictments publicized after a federal grand jury probe into the Superior Industrial Alcohol company ring. The cases accuse conspiracy to violate prohibition laws, false billing, and false labeling with shipments of 12,000 to 10,000 gallons and payments up to 30,000 dollars revealed in testimony.

Warrant sought for bigamy in preacher case
