Calderaro Money Field: DA Sues to Determine Ownership
A petition to determine the right to property will be filed in 47th District Court by District Attorney Gib Howard on behalf of Pietro Calderaro. The case centers on $11,145 Calderaro had when he arrived in Amarillo last Wednesday. Calderaro was released from county jail custody of his son and daughter after their arrival from Los Angeles to claim him and the money.

J M Neely 101 Dies In Amarillo
J M Neely aged 101 and a half died at his daughter's home in Amarillo after a long, active life as a rancher near Bushland, a realtor, and banker. He taught as an elder in the First Presbyterian Church for 84 years and attended his 100th birthday party at the Amarillo Country Club. He helped found the Amarillo National Farm Loan Association and helped organize the Amarillo Oil Company. Funeral at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Rupert M. Skinner officiating. Born in York County South Carolina in 1854, he moved to Texas early in life and settled in Amarillo in 1900. He drove until after his 90s and remained active in business until late life.
