Five Killed as Mine Explodes Aboard US Destroyer Barton

Art Bralley Accepts Bank Post Amid Long County Service

Amarillo Youth Dies After Truck Wreck
Bill Love an 18 year old Amarillo resident died at Highland General Hospital after a truck collision at Highway 60 and Farm Road 294. He was riding in a Borden milk truck driven by Roland Lee Bills when the vehicles collided at the intersection. The lumber truck driver John Lenard Hutching and Bills were uninjured. Love was ejected and run over by the milk truck. The accident occurred at 2 55 PM. Highway patrolmen from Pampa investigated. Funeral arrangements were set at Dunkel Carmichael Funeral Home in Pampa.

Turkey Case Ends With Fine for Edwards
In Corporation Court Judge Richard Cazzell fined Harold Pepper Edwards 25 dollars for theft under five dollars after Edwards claimed he killed what he thought was an eagle and later learned it was a turkey. Evidence showed turkey feathers in trash and a dressed fowl in the refrigerator. Edwards had breakfast on two sandwiches of turkey provided by his wife.
