J. B. Sneed was indicted on murder by the grand jury yesterday. The accomplice theory will be tested today as the panel reviews the case. Sneed remains silent in prison and a writ of habeas corpus or bond request will be sought soon. Relatives and lawyers wait in Amarillo for the next preliminary moves amid a quiet, unsettled atmosphere.
J Beal Sneed was indicted by Potter County grand jurors for the murder of Albert Boyce Jr. in Amarillo on September 14 1912. The indictment names witnesses examined and foreman M C Nobles, with District Attorney Henry S Bishop. Bail likely set soon as legal proceedings proceed toward January trial.
Governor Wilson spoke to a large audience at the Sioux City interstate fair and condemned the tariff board idea as delaying tariff legislation. He argued there is a distinction between big business and trusts, endorsing big business while opposing trusts and their aim to reduce competition.

Chicago on September 17 The International Harvester Company of America reported profits of 1500000 after selling 100 million dollars worth of farm implements President Haskins testified before a special examiner in the government suit to dissolve the corporation Government questions aimed to show the American firm was only the selling agent for the New Jersey company and that the latter earned the larger profits Haskins cited ongoing expansion and heavy advertising as reasons for the modest return.
Washington bids open November 2 at the Osage Indian agency in Oklahoma for leases on 100000 acres of Osage oil lands as part of 800000 acres to be opened. The Uncle Sam Oil Company had a bid for 200000 acres rejected for lack of competition. Any bid for 25000 acres or less from a single company is allowed if the bidder is not an oil transporter under ICC rules.
E. W. Fee, a Denver wholesale grain merchant, was shot five times in the body and likely fatally wounded by Sario Arswjo, a Mexican recently discharged by Fee for annoyance to his stenographer. Arswjo was jailed.

In El Paso on September 17 preliminary extradition warrants were filed by the Mexican consul against Colonel Orozco father of the rebel commander in chief amid murder charges. Secret agents and officials say no definite link yet between the elder Orozco and the rebel chief known as Mysterious Orozco.
White River Junction Vermont September 7 The Vermont State Fair opened today with every department well filled and numerous high class attractions. The exhibit ion will continue until the end of the week.
A prior day left temperatures steady with morning readings around 65 76 degrees and a high near 70 while the low lingered in the mid fifties. Forecast suggests continued fair conditions with mild daytime highs and cool nights.
