Police pursue at least one, possibly two men and a woman linked to the gasoline fire that killed Ben Hughes Jr and J C Passmore at the Horace B Thorp residence on 508 Louisiana Street. A car tied to the case was found abandoned two blocks away.
A goodwill group from the Tri-State Fair toured Tulsa on Swisher County Fair day. They invited Swisher County residents to Amarillo exposition on Tulsa Day next Tuesday. George Lancaster a 19 year old Clovis man is acquitted of murder in the slaying of his estranged wife Blanche Davie, 34, on August 27 in Clovis. The jury deliberated about seven hours after testimony before delivering the verdict at 8 37 this morning in a small courtroom.
Brigadier General Joseph P. O'Neil of Portland accepted responsibility for placing copies of Secretary Hurley's statement on bonus marchers before delegates at the American Legion National Convention. The convention condemned the War Department after copies were found at desks in official envelopes, though the envelopes had not been mailed.
A Breckenridge jury convicts W. 8. (Stony) Phillips of murder for killing E. L. Churchill and sentences him to 99 years in prison. A motion for a new trial is filed.
Potter County officials presented the 1933 budget at a Friday public meeting but offered no agreement. J Ray of the Amarillo Taxpayers League urged relief by reverting to a 33 1 3 percent assessment instead of 40 percent, arguing the state should cover bond relief.
