Monroe Hilton of Miami was charged with three counts of assault with intent to murder after an early morning dispute during which his estranged wife Dixie Hilton and her parents, Rayburn and Mrs. Hines, were shot. Hilton, 25, was arraigned with bond set at 30000 and transferred to Gray County jail. The victims were hospitalized in satisfactory condition. Hilton said Mrs. Hines woke him during the incident.
