Plane Crash Kills 21 RCAF Members at Saskatoon Airport
Twenty one Royal Canadian Air Force personnel died when a Dakota transport crashed during approach at a Canadian military airport in Estevan Saskatchewan. Eyewitnesses described the aircraft retracting its landing gear then plunging from about 100 feet, with fuel explosions igniting wreckage and a smoke column. Only one body was identified initially. Yugoslav Protest Over US Troop Treatment in Trieste Incident

Bludgeon Killer Strikes Twice in Indianapolis
A 25 year old juke box repairman, Leslie Foddrill, was found bludgeoned to death under the Kentucky Avenue bridge near White River, the second fatal attack in five days. Nurse Alberta Green was killed last Wednesday at Indiana University Medical Center. another nurse, Betty Overdeer, was slugged and is recovering. Captain Dailey notes no solid suspect yet.

Plane crash kills Maj. Gen. Wurtsmith and four others near Waynesville
A B-25 bomber carrying Maj. Gen. Paul B. Wurtsmith temporary commander of the Eighth Air Force and four Army men crashed into Cold Mountain ten miles south of Waynesville North Carolina. All five occupants were killed and their bodies greatly damaged. The wreckage was found by a search plane from MacDill Field and a ground rescue party reached the site before 4 PM. The aircraft, flying in dense fog, crashed about 200 feet from the mountain summit in a heavily wooded area.

Estonian Sailors Find Haven in Dominican Republic
Eighteen Estonians including five women who sailed from Sweden June 7 in a nine ton vessel with auxiliary motor landed today at San Pedro de Macoris Dominican authorities welcomed them after they traveled via England and Puerto Rico. The group was admitted by the Dominican government.
