Young ranch hand injures leg in accidental shooting
Eddie Collie 21 of LX Ranch 20 miles NW of Amarillo accidentally shot himself in the leg with a .25 caliber pistol while comparing draw speed with fellow ranch hand Jack Cheatham 19. Collie received treatment at St Anthony's Hospital and was released Sunday.

Amarillo Man Hurt In Wreck. Two Youths Dead Near Hollis
A head on collision two miles west of Hollis on U S Highway 62 at 10 35 p m Saturday left two Sand Springs youths dead and Amarillo man Bobby Grissom seriously injured. The dead are Bobby McFarland 19 and Billy Ray Copeland 18. Copeland died later at University Hospital Oklahoma City. Grissom was partially conscious in Altus Memorial Hospital with possible chest and knee injuries. Investigating trooper Dick Wiseman Harmon County Sheriff Q D Jackson and Hollis Police Chief C C Garton reported the westbound car carried McFarland and Copeland while Grissom drove east. McFarland body to Tims Funeral Home Hollis.
