U S Representative John J Bell of Cuero had trial date set for December 12 in 25th District Court on charges of conspiring to steal veterans land program funds. Bell appeared for docket call and requested the earliest possible date with his attorney Denver Perkins of Gonzales stating the sooner the better. The judge and district attorney noted the crowded docket allowed the mid December date. He said he is ready anytime.
Capt. David H. Roberts said a man and a woman were arrested on abortion resulting in death conspiracy and perjury warrants in connection with Doris Jean Ostreicher’s death. They were taken from relatives’ home in West Philadelphia to city hall for questioning.
