Two Amarillo children, James Scarborough 13 and Flora Lee Scarborough 9, were in critical condition at St. Anthony's hospital after a collision at Eighth Avenue and Houston Street. They sustained brain concussion fractured jaw and arm for Flora Lee. James Scarborough suffered leg and arm fractures and facial lacerations. Two men, Joe Hatch of Pampa and Bert, received minor injuries.
Authorities search for the sister of Mrs. T. L. Koontz as bodies are found, with the victims identified as Mrs. T. L. Koontz and her son.
Rescue workers find the battered bodies of Mrs. T. L. Koontz and her 21 month old son Tommie Lee Koontz Jr. in flood debris near Cow Creek. Auto swept from highway during five inch rainfall. another missing woman, Miss Ione Red, sought as waters flood arroyos and creeks.
The Grace liner Santa Rita bound from Buenaventura to Balboa reported her No 3 hatch afire about 200 miles from Balboa. The tug Favorite departed with 70 tons of chemicals to aid the vessel as it aims for Balboa by early evening standard time.
Tonight Amarillo hosts a fall fashions parade with a four part show at Municipal Auditorium starting 8:30 pm. The Junior Welfare League finance committee and local merchants present models by Pretty girls, a floor show by Gene Gallo's Dance Mart, and Sanford's orchestra with prizes over 300 dollars. Window unveiling at 7:30 pm precedes, reservations at City Drug No 1, dance at The Nat at 10 pm with music by Dave Derden's concert band.
San Angelo, Sept. 9 Plans were perfected for a drought relief conference to be held Monday night and Tuesday. Lawrence Westbrook of the Federal Relief Administration will preside along with Harry Petrie head of the livestock purchasing program. Officials from Texas and surrounding states will attend to discuss immediate agricultural needs and winter plans.

Officials said that federal purchase of sheep and goats in mid western growth areas would start Monday. Instructions were sent to Harry Berrie, head of the cattle and sheep section, at field headquarters in Colorado. The AAA estimated 3,000,000 to 5,000,000 animals would be bought over 60 to 90 days and turned over to the Federal Surplus Relief Corporation for distribution to relief recipients.

The Texas Centennial Commission selected Dallas as the central celebration city for 1936 after four hours of executive session. Dallas offered 7,971,000 in value, the best bid among Houston and San Antonio, which also sought the central observance.
Amarillo authorities sought three masked gunmen after two Saturday night holdups. Two men stopped a Pickwick Greyhound on U S Highway 66 near Jeri cho McLean, taking about 35 dollars. They fled in a car with a third man. Soon after, three armed robbers matching descriptions entered Lefors Standard Food Store, taking 300 to 400 dollars from the manager and customers, using a machine gun.

Six people from St Louis drowned when their boat sank with its occupants ten miles north of St Charles Missouri on the Mississippi River. The victims included Mr and Mrs James A Kirn and their son Charles 7 Mrs Homer Coe her son Vincent and a niece La Verne 13 Homer Coe saved his 3 year old daughter Virginia by grabbing her and swimming to shore. The sinking occurred near the War Fagie landing on the Missouri side of the river.
Four people died when a plane crashed near Clingman, 15 miles east of North Wilkesboro. The pilot-owner was Carl S. Coffey, 36, of Clingman. Murph Mathis, 43, Roaring River route 2. Robert Green, 27, Clingman merchant. Lester Boyd, 26, Yadkinville mechanic.
Chief Officer William Worms led 10 of 14 Morro Castle crew members ashore with him on the Tampa after staying with the captain on the burning bridge. Exhausted, they walked the gang plank as cheers rose from the cutter’s crew. Radio operator George W. Rogers from Bayonne collapsed from smoke and fatigue. Worms, now in charge after Captain Willmott died the night before, wore a bandaged right hand with broken knuckles and pledged to speak more later.
Albert Lynch Cobb pioneer resident dies at his ranch home 15 miles southeast of Claude at 8 30 Sunday morning. He was 13. Funeral at Claude Baptist Church Tuesday 3 PM with Rev J A Russell and Rev John W Crow assisting. Burial in Claude Cemetery directed by Boxwell Brothers Amarillo. U S officials join the investigation into the Morro Castle fire that killed many and left 427 survivors. Coast guardsmen recovered two charred bodies from the bus aboard the vessel as New York and New Jersey morgues counted 111 dead. The inquiry will summon crew and passengers and review possible negligence by Ward Line with U S Attorney Martin Conboy to assess criminal liability.
Merchants in cooperation with The News-Globe stage a display window unveiling of autumn and winter fashions with living models from local stores. Dave Derden's concert band will provide music as the unveiling begins at 7 39 o clock and the show runs for about one hour.
