A Florida wood products plant in Calhoun County failed after receiving a 2.873 million dollar federal loan. The 150 promised jobs vanished as Coastal Products Inc. went under and a sale to Abitibi Florida Corp. produced a 2.3 million dollar loss, the largest of its kind on record.

WT To Launch Horse Program at West Texas State
West Texas State University will start a specialized horse program next spring to train equine professionals.
