Loyal officers aboard the battleship La Torre and cruiser O'Higgins, who had been confined, were released and reassumed command. Death of B. E. Ludwig under investigation near Dallas
B. E. Ludwig, 33, was found shot to death in his car on a road near Dallas. A bullet hole in the temple and a pistol in his hand suggested foul play. Three empty shells were found in the car and on the running board with no powder burns indicating close range.
