Lightning Kills Muleshoe Man During Storms
A Muleshoe resident, George William Maye, 39, was fatally struck by lightning at 4 10 p.m. while loading watermelons on a tractor at the Dave Aylesworth farm two miles southwest of Muleshoe. He is survived by his wife, two sons, a sister, and a brother. Funeral arrangements by Singleton Funeral Home. The Panhandle storm dropped rain and hail with 1.10 inches in Muleshoe and heavier bursts in surrounding towns.
