Phony five dollar bills lead to arrests at Amarillo base
Three airmen aged 18 to 20 were arrested at Amarillo Air Force Base after passing counterfeit five dollar bills on the base. Investigators said the men, members of Headquarters Squadron ATTC, used reproduction machines to print money but had not circulated the bogus currency off base. Authorities indicated no wholesale operation existed and the case may proceed in U.S. District Court.
