El Paso Texas Sept 2 Rebel General Salazar commanding forces southwest of Juarez issues a proclamation denouncing American interference in Mexican affairs and warns of retaliation eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth as the conflict escalates.
General Huerta arrives in Juarez to establish northern federation headquarters with about three hundred troops joining him tonight.
A fire in Baltimore harbor caused the Merchants and Miners Transportation Co steamer Nan tucket to overturn and sink this afternoon. Crew and salvage teams clung to masts as the vessel sunk, but all aboard were rescued. The ship valued at four hundred fifty thousand dollars.

Congressman Burleson of Texas announced that after the second week of September Governor Wilson will speak in Michigan Wisconsin and Minnesota. In early October he will address events in Missouri Kansas Nebraska and Iowa while en route to Maine.
Twenty two people are reported dead and eleven more believed missing after a vast storm sweeping Northwestern Pennsylvania, parts of West Virginia, and Eastern Ohio. Floodwaters inundated towns up to three feet deep, washing away houses as streams rose and flood duties operated to evacuate workers and families of Pittsboro-Buffalo Coal employees who rescued 400 miners from the flood.

Jim Flynn of Pueblo outboxed Charlie Miller in San Francisco as Miller refused to continue after the fifteenth round claiming two fractured ribs. Miller carried a thirty six pound weight disadvantage but fought to near the end before ending the bout in the sixteenth round.
Jeff Clarke from Joplin defeated Joe Jeanette of Hoboken by popular decision in six rounds in Pittsburg.
Joe Mandot of New Orleans defeated Joe Rivers of Los Angeles in twenty fierce rounds winning the decision by a large margin. The bout took place in Los Angeles, highlighting Mandot's superior reach and technique over Rivers in a grueling contest.
In Indianapolis tonight Ras Branson and Wildcat Ferns fought ten fast rounds to a draw, delivering an even contest as the bout ended under the arena lights.
