Four Die in Oil Rig Explosion Near Dumas
Lethard H. Davis a 35 year old Pampa oil field worker was killed instantly when two boilers exploded at Magnolia Oil Co Nelson lease rig 18 miles northeast of Dumas. Four companions were beneath a floor at the time and had no eyewitnesses. Davis body was found mangled about 60 feet from his last sighting as parts of boilers were found up to a quarter mile away. Officials gave no immediate explanation.
