30 Year Wedding for Jesse and Family in Amarrillo

A 6 foot 7 inch, 275 pound steel worker Clarence E. Young was arrested in Wichita for the March 13 killing of Robert Boyd Chapman near Canyon. Young claimed Chapman pulled a pistol and made indecent advances. he says he stabbed Chapman with a bayonet and hid the body in a roadside ditch. He will be taken to Randall county jail soon as investigators continue the case.

Amarillo Hit by Torrential Rain and High Winds
Torrential rain moved northeast across Amarillo last night with an inch downtown in 34 minutes and wind gusts around 60 mph. Damage included walls collapsing at Olsen Park Baptist Church and water flooding businesses, while underpasses stayed open and transformers and power lines caused scattered outages. Officials noted the heaviest impact in West Amarillo as the storm abated.
