Hereford Texas May 29 The Syndicate proposes selling 26 sections as a single tract with four improvements per four sections and a central group housing a school church store and shop. Buyers receive 160 acres with favorable 21 year lease terms beginning after two years with 5 percent principal and 6 percent interest, taxes only for two years. The plan aims to promote community living near a school telephones and daily mail, though cowmen oppose the colony idea.
Former New York police lieutenant Charles Becker has had his final appeal denied by the Court of Appeals. The case centers on the 1912 murder of gambler Hermann Rosenthal. Becker, once dubbed the boss of the Strong Arm Squad, is practically certain to be executed.
