Wellington May 28 Collingsworth County’s scholastic count shows a drop of 165 students from the 1950 figure. County Superintendent B. W. Beaird announced the decline this week. Railroads Ask Hike in Fares
The major Southern railroads petitioned the Interstate Commerce Commission for a 10 percent increase in passenger fares. They seek raising the minimum one-way fare from 15 to 25 cents and a per mile rate from 2.5 to 2.75 cents for coach service and 3.5 to 3.85 cents for Pullman mileage.
