Wrecks Kill Two Amarillo Area Parents and Two Children
Two crashes eight miles south of Amarillo within minutes killed A R Meek 37 and Mrs John W Branum 31 and two young Thimling children while injuring eight others. The initial collision involved Thurman Thimling and his family in a 1934 Ford struck by Pete Lane 26 Plainview. A second crash with a Plymouth killed Mrs Branum and Meek as Grady and Cox were lightly hurt. Lane faced murder without malice charges with bond set at 5000.

Hereford Farmer Killed By Downed Wire
O E Sherman 67 a Hereford area farmer and stockman was electrocuted early Sunday when a grass fire sparked a downed telephone wire contacting a Southwestern Public Service highline. He was taken to Deaf Smith County Hospital but died. Surviving include his widow three sons two daughters and nine grandchildren. Funeral services are pending at Gilisland Funeral Home Hereford.
