Oil Refinery Fire In Texas Company Plant Controlled
Fire at the Texas Company refinery on the east edge of the city began around 11 40 PM and was under control by midnight with several city fire units on site. Flames appeared from a burst pipe in the Kellogg unit where crude is refined into coal oil before water suppression and plant shutoffs halted the spread. The refinery, recently enlarged, is a major local industry.
