A 20 year old California man died and his 23 year old passenger was injured when the car they rode overturned on Interstate 40 about one mile west of the city near Hope Road shortly before 11 p.m. last night. Rocky Haag of Stockton Calif was identified as the dead driver. The passenger remained in undetermined condition at Amarillo Emergency Receiving Center at 1 a.m. A DPS officer said Haag was the driver of the car.
