Aged Kansan Killed in Auto Crash Tuesday
Grant Hume sixty, Parsons Kansas, retired railroad machinist, died instantly when the car he rode in with wife and E E Hume of Hannibal Missouri overturned between Panhandle and White Deer. Mrs Hume and E E Hume were bruised but survived. The party was en route to Clovis New Mexico to visit a daughter. Funeral plans were pending as the body was sent home by Santa Fe. Hume had worked eighty five years for the M E T railroad and later ran a Parsons restaurant. He belonged to Security Benefit Association and Modern Woodmen of America.

In Dallas in May 97 Margaret Reiner aged 11 and Miss Annie Read 23 died when a Houston and Texas Railroad car struck them at a grade crossing. Two others were seriously injured.
