Testimony Ties Spikes brothers to 1900s cattle rustling case
Frank Bond testified in a $200,000 libel trial in Lubbock that one Spikes brother urged him to join cattle rustling about 1898 to 1902. Bond said he saw the Spikes gang rustling cattle, killing a two year old, skinning a heifer, and burning its hide. Quanah farmer E. C. Boree was shot three times by his daughter Mrs. Melven Pinker as he prepared for a trial on an assault to murder charge. Pinker, carrying a baby, was released on $500 bond. Dallas May 26 Dr T J Grow secretary of Texas State Medical Board said the board decided to revoke the license of Dr John R Brinkley goat gland specialist formerly of Milford Kansas and the case was turned over to Tom Clark Dallas civil district attorney. Brinkley had Texas license since 1919 based on Arkansas board. Kansas board revoked for unprofessional conduct and the FCC also revoked his radio station license. He recently announced plans to build a large radio station in Villa Acuna Mexico and a hospital there.
