A tornado bearing thunderstorm moved east from Portales New Mexico area late Wednesday night. Funnels danced across farm land near several communities and were sighted about 10 miles southwest of Portales at 8:30 p.m. Reports flooded sheriff offices in Lamb and Bailey counties as funnels plowed along open fields. One funnel traced from the New Mexico border crossed toward Littlefield.
