One Dead as Galveston Hotel Fire Rages Through Crystal Hotel
A fire at the Crystal hotel on Market Street in Galveston killed one man and left several guests slightly injured. Lynching in Braggadocio prompts inquest verdict
A coroner's jury in Braggadocio Missouri returned a verdict of death by a mob for Will Sherrod a 40 year old Black man lynched last night. Sherrod who had been jailed for an alleged assault on widow Ella Hendershott was found with 28 bullets and suspended on a scaffold in the town center. Sheriff J Ham Smith said the prisoner was taken from Pemiscott county jail through the back door and no arrests had been made.
