Bridge Fire Delays Denver Extension to Pampa

William A Gray told the banking committee that Gold Sachs Trading Corporation and the Postum Company paid 23 million dollars in 1929 for General Foods Corporation where only 1 75 million was invested. Walter E Sachs president of the trading company said the price was for valuable patents. He testified that 12 75 million of securities bought by his firm were later sold for stock worth 900 thousand. John F Levenson testified he ran an account that earned 19 063 for Raleigh T Curtis former financial writer on the New York Daily News. Curtis has not worked for two years. Roger J Cornell testified he investigated Curtis who wrote under Trader and urged public stock purchases in which Levenson traded. Gray showed that while Indian Motorcycle stock was being sold Howard F Hansell Jr and others were paid to publicize it by A Newton Plummer who was later paid 26 880 Hansell denied Plummer was paid for publicity.
