The Texas Zephyr derailed three miles south of Des Moines New Mexico while en route from Denver to Dallas. The derailment occurred at 7 32 P M Mountain War Time. No injuries or fatalities were immediately known. About 10 cars were on the train and ambulances from nearby Clayton were summoned.
