Oscar W. Holmes, 35, a former Amarillo resident, was electrocuted Monday near Kilgore when a utility pole service vehicle brushed a high voltage cable. Potter County commissioners tentatively approve a plan to join Amarillo to establish a Neighborhood Youth Corps Program.
An 18 year old Portales resident, Joe Patrick Chavez, was killed when a low flying crop dusting aircraft struck him as he flagging for the pilot on Monday. The incident occurred amid other top news across The Plains.

Horatius Albarda president of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines died in a Beechcraft crash in the Swiss Alps. He was 61 along with his wife aged 44 and two crewmen. Two helicopter pilots found the wreckage on a mountain pass with no signs of life.
