Snake First Aid Saves Man in California
Doctors at County Hospital credited friends of Innoncen cio Torres of Tijuana with saving his life after a rattlesnake bite. They used the snake’s body as a tourniquet around his ankle to prevent poison spread, then beat the snake to death. Torres was bitten yesterday at Escondido and brought to the hospital by a passing motorist.

Joe L. Wells 49 died at his home 3600 Fountain Terrace after a six month illness. Born October 23 1908 in Memphis he moved to Amarillo in 1905 and was educated at Amarillo Public Schools and Amarillo High School class of 1921. Survivors include his wife Edyth Seward Wells a son Joe B Wells two daughters Mary Sawyers and Alice Wells his father L A Wells a sister Burkella Ochsner and two grandchildren Johnny and Joe Sawyers. Funeral services are pending with N S Griggs and Sons.
