Otis Woodring, a 30 year old ex inmate, confessed to robbing the First National Bank of Hooker Oklahoma six hours after the theft and three hours after his arrest near Dodge City Kansas. He said the spur of the moment crime netted 17376 with seven employees locked in the vault. He was identified by Harold Witzke assistant cashier and arrested at a roadblock by Under Sheriff Fred Sproat.

U N forces reported 2 to 3 Red planes shot down while United States aircraft suffered no losses. Washington dismissed Communist claims of territory violations and said the incident occurred over international waters.

Two 17 year old airmen stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base were jailed after a midnighth assault on sisters aged 14 and 15 on a country road west of Amarillo. Five other airmen were alleged to have been present but not involved. The girls received bruises from the assault and doctors verified injuries. The airmen were to be arraigned on charges with statements refused to district attorney.
