Fishermen Adrift After Ships Sink Near Boston
Coast guard reports 20 fishermen missing after the Boston boat Isabelle Parker and Gloucester craft Edith C. Rose collided 150 miles northeast of Boston. Nine men were rescued by the Amacilla bound for Yarmouth Nova Scotia as both vessels sank within ninety minutes of the crash.

Suspected Bank Robber Charged in Maypearl Killing
Denison, May 11. Burton Franks, 21, of Bonham, arrested on federal charges for robbing the First State Bank of Maypearl and fatally shooting president W. D. Wiseman, 44. He allegedly acted alone, threw the pistol into the Red River, and claimed the robbery netted $1,572 per federal complaint. He was found in a hotel with $558 in a pillowcase. the sedan used in the crime had been stolen May 2 and driven 2,000 miles. U.S. Attorney Clyde Eastus said the death penalty would be pursued.
