Amarilloans form a motor caravan to Hereford for Pioneer Day marking Hereford’s fortieth birthday. The Amarillo College band leads the 10 o clock parade as crowds of about 10 000 gather.
The Texas Railroad Commission issued a emergency order closing all oil wells on Saturdays May 14 21 and 28 in addition to existing Sunday closures. The move aims to curb crude overproduction and large gasoline stocks as demand wanes. Governor Marland of Oklahoma urged further production cuts to match market demand and conserve resources.
Mrs. Oma Fuller, 35, was charged with murder in the death of her husband Harry Lefty Fuller owner of the Silver Spray Night Club. He was shot and beaten in the club living quarters early Monday. she was bound over to district court on $5,000 bond after waiving preliminary hearing.
