Santa Fe Officials Inspect Bridge North of Amarillo

Perryton Family Injured in Highway 5 Crash
Five persons riding in Fred Perin of Perryton were injured seven miles north of the Canadian River when their car ran off Highway 5 struck a bridge curb and overturned. Perin and Clifton Sharp 12 suffered the most serious injuries as the vehicle pinioned them under the car and later transported to Am All four other occupants, Mr and Mrs C E Sharp and daughter Pauline 12, were less seriously hurt. Perin was hospitalized in serious condition with a crushed chest. Clifton Sharp endured a broken leg and multiple lacerations. An unnamed man at the scene drove the Sharp family to Amarillo in his car. Perin could not be moved until aid arrived.

Unidentified man killed in West Fourth Avenue collision
A 60 year old man was struck and killed Sunday afternoon at West Fourth Avenue and Washington Street. Fred Chambers 19 admitted driving a Chambers grocery truck that hit him and was charged with driving while intoxicated and failing to stop.
