Former appeals judge Diki died suddenly of a heart attack while returning home. Reports say he was in good health prior to the incident and the death occurred during travel. Local authorities are investigating the sudden death.
Alton B Parker former chief judge of the New York Court of Appeals died at 71 while riding in a car in Central Park. He rose from farm youth to carry the Democratic banner against Theodore Roosevelt in 1904. Survived by his second wife Amy Campbell Parker a daughter and two grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday in New York with burial in Kingston.
In Girard Kansas May 10. Publisher Haldeman Julius and wife will wed again not by clergy but by a judge on a sunny day on the terrace at Girard. The couple first married by a Presbyterian minister ten years ago and now plan a civil repeat ceremony to reflect their views on marriage. Judge Pen Lindsey will perform the ceremony. Great Britain enters second week of general work stoppage.
London entered the second week of a general strike as troops escort food convoys from Victoria dock to Hyde Park. The strikers denounced troop use as ridiculous and unnecessary while the government claimed military convoys ensured ample food supplies. Violence included an attack on a bus, a sergeant struck, and a constable stabbed. a Birmingham council member was arrested for remarks about special constables.
Earl Robinson an oil well driller remains hospitalized with critical injuries after a tornado ripped a derrick at a wildcat well near Butcher today. A horse was killed and several small buildings were destroyed as the storm hit Thackerville Oklahoma, about 13 miles north of Gainesville.
Reports from Santa Fe and rail lines indicate a one half inch rain and light hail in parts of Panhandle and North Plains. Amarillo area received seven tenths of rain while most South Plains and west of Amarillo saw none. Weather stretched from Canyon to Alva Oklahoma with light hail near Amarillo and Pampa.

A trio of masked men staged a bold hold up at the Pantex Drug store in the business district. Two suspects are in critical condition at a Borger hospital, one partner jailed in Hutchinson county, and two store victims also critically injured. The proprietor M F Henderson described the assault before the scene continued across the street.
Amarillo placed seventh among the South's 25 largest cities in April building, trailing Houston, Tampa, and Jacksonville after ranking ahead of New Orleans, Memphis, and Dallas. The April construction total reached $2,002,409, four times the prior year and the city's largest month ever.

Federal prohibition agents clashed with moonshiners at a still site about fifteen miles from Oneonta Alabama. K F Buckner was believed dying from wounds as the raid on the still guarded by moonshiners turned into a sun battle on the edge of St Clair county.
Cincinnati dispatch reports Harry Lansiedel president of Dalton Adding Machine shot by Charles J. Dalton former general manager and stockholder. Dalton then shot himself. Lansiedel died later. Dalton died at scene. Employees heard shots after a long private meeting.
Severe storms hit Lamar County causing injuries as Michael Ham is reported missing. Tornado like winds sparked damage near Paris with hail and heavy rain disrupting multiple communities. Local responders coordinated urgent relief and search efforts amid ongoing warnings.
A severe setback strikes Delta County causing heavy crop losses and property damage across northern Texas. Dallas faces a difficult recovery as residents and officials assess widespread impact and begin rebuilding efforts.
Four persons were killed and one missing in a wind, rain and hailstorm or tornado portions that swept the southwestern part of the county into Delta county early today. Two women and two children were killed at Noble in the southern part of Lamar county.
A tornado struck the southwest part of Lamar and northern Delta counties causing extensive damage to buildings and crops along a five to seven mile wide by about thirty mile long path. Early reports said several people, mostly African American, were injured. The storm damaged communications in the Lamar and Delta area and large losses were estimated, with hailstones up to 22 ounces and 12 inches in circumference.
Texas officials led by Railroad Commissioner C V Terrell and Texas Rail road Commission Chairman Clarence E Gil more will argue before the Interstate Commerce Commission in Washington starting May 19. The Texas and other southwestern commissions seek a southwestern rate group and livestock rate adjustments under docket 17000 prompted by Hoch Smith. The hearing is described as the most important to Texas residents.
The forecast through 7 00 PM Tuesday calls for fair skies in Aqarillo and vicinity and in West Texas and New Mexico.
