Two people were killed and seven injured in a head on collision on the Pampa McLean highway near Lefors 12 miles southeast. Victims include James Monroe Caldwell 28 of McLean and Thelma Videlle Van Winkle 17 of near Lefors. The crash occurred about 1 45 am as two cars collided at the bottom of a draw.

Woman Fights Bull to Save Husband in Metamora
In Metamora Illinois, May 9 a 1600 pound bull attacked farmer Charles C. Jaggers and his wife Erma as he led the animal to a barn. Erma Jaggers, 39, clung to the bull by its nose ring for nearly two hours while her husband crawled a mile to safety. He suffered fractures to his right leg and wrist. she endured bruises and shock but was not seriously injured.
