Borger police report C W Hays a 35 year old driller shot to death at Phillips Camp about 1 AM Sunday. O L Lilly 36 is jailed for murder following an alleged drinking party. A unnamed woman is held in connection with the case as relatives in Oklahoma are notified.
The "White Bird" is due to complete its first nonstop flight from Paris to New York today. Officials anticipate the arrival later this afternoon as the record-setting journey wraps up.
American airmen prepare for Captain Nungesser and Capt. Francis Coli to land in New York after about 18 hours aloft. Weather and radio limitations complicate tracking as the “White Bird” nears the halfway point with an estimated 1,800 miles covered at 100 mph.
A twister crossing Barber Reno and McPherson counties tore four city blocks through Hutchinson’s industrial district and near Medora and Inman. Eleven people died and fifty were injured with eight hundred homes damaged, many in the eastern part of Watchingon.
Texas rangers seized what officials described as the largest and most complete whisky still in the area during a raid north of the Canadian river. The 800 gallon setup included tanks and hose connections. no arrests were reported.

Col. A E Humphreys, a Denver oil millionaire, died in Mercy hospital from a shotgun wound to the face suffered in an afternoon accident. The fatal injury occurred late today and was reported from Denver.
Members of the First Baptist church at Ninth and Polk Streets pledged to rise up and help fill the gaps in the campaign for a new church building after Dr. G L Yates preached on Gods Call for a Man Ezekiel 22 30 He linked the biblical plea to World War and Woodrow Wilson and urged congregational effort in missions and church work continuing on page six.

Rail, steel, auto parts, machinery gain while coal shipments and grain trade weaken. oil industry stabilizes and cotton prices may rise with export demand. Bank clearings rise.
Strong Sunday winds around 45 mph damaged business show windows along Polk Street and toppled electric signs. Windows, panes, chimneys and out houses suffered. light globes shattered. crop damage not yet reported. Cold front followed with forecast improving weather.
The U S Treasury will call 1.7 billion dollars of the second Liberty loan tomorrow. Bonds totaling 3.8079 billion remaining will be paid November 15, the tenth anniversary of issuance, and will stop bearing interest after that date. Notices will run in all form of newspapers and posters in post offices banks and trust companies. Assistant Secretary Dewey will broadcast the call via radio with coast to coast hookups Burb central and western stations.
A report by 8 W Straus shows banks and trust companies originated or participated in 7 964 000 real estate bonds representing over 27 percent of publicly announced real estate securities in four months. Banks underwrote 17 527 000 of 70 982 000 in May indicating rising confidence in well chosen real estate improvements and the soundness of urban properties.
