San Antonio defeated Amarillo 13 to 6 as Corpus Christi beat WWE 12 to 8. Victoria won 5 to 3 over Tulsa. In the American League Washington edged Chicago 6 to 4, Boston defeated Detroit 17 to 6, New York beat Kansas City 7 to 4, and Baltimore toppled Cleveland 6 to 5. In the National League Milwaukee won 5 to 4 against Los Angeles, Chicago lost 3 to 0 to Pittsburgh, and St. Louis prevailed 8 to 7 over Philadelphia. Only games scheduled.
Sen Grady Hazlewood of Amarillo urged passage of Senate Bill 277 to let Texas require milk imports meet sanitary standards equal to local producers. He warned federal bills could preempt state and municipal regulation, with organized opposition led by foreign owned milk companies. Hazlewood cited indictments of two national chains as context for his stance.
