Amarillo Aviator Lieut Blackburn Killed on Flying Tigers Mission
Amarillo native John Ed Blackburn third of the Flying Tigers was killed in action April 28 in Kunming China while on a check flight or plane test. He was 23 and had shot down four Japanese aircraft with the AVG since October. Survived by parents Walter and Clara Blackburn a brother Stanley and a sister Mrs Tuckness.
