Rogers spoke on opening day at the Herring Hotel as Jack Dever of Montreal discussed grain trade impacts from the St Lawrence Seaway opening. More than 375 members and their wives attended.

Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev inspected the American exposition site in Moscow with a 45 minute tour. He toured cement work and the geodesic dome, hugged workers, and greeted U S Ambassador Llewellyn Thompson and deputy director Howard Messmore.
He commented that the aluminum dome stands out while the steelwork blends in. The dome will house film exhibits on American life and is nearly complete. The Soviet government plans to buy the building for 350000 dollars after the exhibition. Khrushchev inquired about the prefabricated wood and stucco components.

Printer David H. Scull faced a 10 day jail sentence and fine after Justice Black struck down his conviction. Black ruled the inquiry's announced aims were unclear and conflicting, denying Scull a clear basis or justification for the questioning.
The Baltimore originating case involved Aaron D. Frank fined $20 for refusing entry to a health inspector without a warrant. The inspector sought admission to the private residence.
