In Waco Texas on May 4 hospital attendants reported Dr Samuel P Brooks president of Baylor University in fragile condition. Physicians said he had little chance to survive beyond a few days as his daughter Aurelia Brooks a Columbia University student traveled to be with the family at his bedside.

Special to The News Murray Malone 66 longtime Plainview resident and insurance man dies after a three week illness. A native Texan he came to Plainview in 1906 after a 1904 move to Lockney and spent three years in Amarillo. He was active in civic and church affairs as a member.

F M Bisbee former Santa Fe chief engineer Amarillo died early Monday in Los Angeles. His Hollywood home since 1922, he is survived by his widow. Burial planned in Dexter Maine, with body to leave the coast on Wednesday. Bisbee began with the Santa Fe in 1878 and led original construction in New Mexico to El Paso. From 1881 to 1883 he worked with Mexico operations.
