Al pert C. Johnson, 61, promoter of Mexican land ventures, pleaded guilty to using the mails to defraud and received a two year prison sentence. Through the Mexican Land Company of Kansas and West Coast Agriculture and Land Company of Los Angeles, he sold worthless land in Edenview Sunshine and Buena Vista to thousands across Oklahoma, Colorado, and Texas. He headed the firms and was arrested in Los Angeles in 1925. co defendants saw charges dismissed. Courts found the enterprise misrepresented land fertility and ownership.
