Washington reports a four week sugar ration plan under War Ration Book One. Registration at elementary schools will issue one book per family member, usable for purchases with stamped limits two weeks apart, beginning Tuesday.
War rationing registration for sugar begins in Potter County with a four section schedule at local elementary schools. Amarillo residents join 130 million others to register with full name address height weight eye color hair color age and family sugar needs. Only one family member should register and information collected will aid future rationing and book issuance for specified May to June periods.
Three people sustained minor injuries in a head on collision early yesterday near Osage Street and Northeast Eighth Avenue. Mrs Currie and Mrs Britain suffered lacerations and bruises while Robert Ricks and James Haynes escaped with minor injuries. Haynes, a 17 year old driver, faces aggravated assault charges. both cars suffered heavy damage.

TACOMA Washington May 3 Two officers and one enlisted man were killed and another seriously injured when an army bomber crashed at McChord air base during a routine training flight. The dead are First Lieut. William E. Comber of Frankford Pennsylvania Second Lieut. Adolph T. Frerisch of Fairfax Missouri Corp Frank W. Erwin of San Benito Texas. Seriously injured Sgt Randolph T. Correll of Perryton Texas was expected to recover. A board was appointed to determine the crash cause.
