Chimney Collapse Kills Two In Manhattan Terrace Tragedy

In midtown New York, a 55 West 53rd Street terrace chimney toppled while a hammock scene brought four people together. James Stephens, 45, a TV announcer, Jefferson McGrath, 39, ad agency supervisor, Priscilla Tedesco, 27, secretary, and two young women were pulled from rubble. Stephens and McGrath died. the two secretaries survived with minor injuries. The incident followed a party at Stephens' apartment after a recording company event.

Man Slain and Robbed in County Yard Incident

Police examined fingerprints to identify a dead man found near a brick company yard. The man, about 45, six feet tall and 180 pounds, wore blue jeans and a blue quilted coat.
