Miss Harriet Kruser of Taylor Texas suffered a small hip fracture after a dining room fall at the Londoner Hotel. She was moved to the London Clinic for two weeks of care before returning to the United States on a TWA Super jet.
In Brussels the Amarillo judge and his party arrive among the Jet Holiday tour groups. The Nelsons tour the city with a new European car and sample local sights. At a luncheon the judge jokes about Hannibal and elephants, then retracts his remark.
Frank White of Clarendon became the second American to utter Nuts in Bastogne during World War II. While en route from Brussels to Luxembourg City the Green Group paused in Bastogne for a camera shot near the Sherman tank monument and the McAuliffe statue. White was found later standing by the statue muttering Nuts, prompting a bus return.
An aerial hijacker on a Florida to Cuba flight forced the plane to land in Cuba with a blade to the pilot and a gun to the co-pilot. He claimed a $100,000 payoff and said he would disclose details to Fidel Castro. After landing in San Antonio, authorities took charge and the plane returned to Florida, with the hijacker using the names Mr Coffresi Flair and Cofresi Elpirata.
The U S Supreme Court declined to hear Alabama's challenge to Title II of the 1960 Civil Rights Act. The ruling upholds lower court decisions requiring state election officials to preserve and provide voting records to federal authorities. In a separate Alabama case the court overturned a first degree manslaughter conviction of Lewis Lloyd Anderson, a Black minister.

Seventeen Kansas Flying Farmers diverted from a Santa Fe Trail mission by dense fog near Clayton New Mexico. Lyle Jones of Frankfort Kan landed on US Highway 56 twenty miles south of Clayton while the rest scattered to fields and highways across eastern New Mexico. They planned a 140th anniversary Trail stop and dinner with former President Truman in Independence Missouri, but fog may delay or cancel the event. Rose Conway said Truman had not been notified of delays.

LeTourneau a Longview inventor and missionary spoke at the Downtown Kiwanis Club Ladies Night banquet at the Herring Hotel. He said he has spent four decades repaying God and shared his Liberia program and faith driven work with the Kiwanians and wives.
